About Raduan Man

Born in 1978 in Pahang, Raduan Man is a prominent figure in Malaysian fine art, distinguished by his innovative fusion of traditional woodcut techniques with modern painting. Holding dual Master's degrees in Painting and Printmaking from the UK—specifically from the University of Wolverhampton and the Camberwell College of Arts—Raduan has redefined the medium by eliminating limited-edition prints in favor of unique, one-of-a-kind woodcut paintings on canvas. His work is a sophisticated dialogue between the physical labor of carving and the fluid expression of oil and acrylic, creating a tactile depth that is rare in contemporary abstraction.

Raduan's portfolio is a testament to his versatility, featuring themes that range from industrial machines and "Sky Fighters" to serene domestic interiors. His critically acclaimed solo exhibitions, such as Ascension to Abstraction and his recent Post-Contemporary Woodcut: Lines of Labour, showcase his ability to animate surfaces with bold lines and vivid, distorted forms. A consistent performer in the international art market, his pieces are frequently selected for Sotheby's Hong Kong auctions, fetching strong prices from global investors. From his early Fresh Markings to his latest 2025-2026 series like Teman Si Puteri, Raduan Man remains an essential artist for collectors looking for technical mastery and innovative Malaysian contemporary art.
